MEET THE DESIGNER

Jan Ekselius

Swedish designer Jan Ekselius is known for a bold, sculptural approach to furniture, combining experimentation with a strong sense of comfort and form. His work came to prominence in the 1970s, when his distinctive upholstered designs helped define a more expressive direction in Scandinavian furniture.

Ekselius is best known for the iconic Etcetera collection, characterized by its continuous, wave-like silhouette and soft upholstered construction. Originally designed in 1970, the collection remains a celebrated example of Swedish design and continues to be produced today.
