SUMI Collection is a Vancouver-based contract furniture agency and distributor specializing in exceptional Japanese and Scandinavian furniture, lighting, and objects. We represent a highly curated collection of international design brands, working closely with architects, interior designers, and retail partners across Canada to supply timeless pieces for residential and commercial projects.
Our collection is intentionally refined. Each piece is selected for its craftsmanship, material integrity, and longevity, with a focus on design that feels grounded, functional, and quietly enduring. Many of the designs we carry originate from the mid-century era and continue to feel relevant today—proof that thoughtful design transcends time and trend.

We work across trade, contract, and wholesale, supporting projects of varying scale with care and precision. SUMI Collection is the exclusive Canadian wholesale supplier for Ariake, and we continue to expand our portfolio of thoughtfully chosen international brands.
We welcome inquiries from architects, interior designers, and retailers interested in trade accounts, wholesale relationships, or vendor partnerships. Our role extends beyond supply—we act as a knowledgeable partner throughout the specification and procurement process.

The SUMI Collection is informed by SUMI Living, a land-based project on Salt Spring Island where architecture, interiors, and nature intersect. The property functions as a living showroom—an evolving environment where the pieces we represent are lived with, experienced, and understood over time.
This connection grounds our curation in lived experience. It allows us to understand how furniture and objects perform through seasons, light conditions, and daily use—bringing a deeper level of insight to the collections we offer.
A Personal Vision
SUMI Collection is curated by interior designer and creative director Andrea Rodman. After years of sourcing internationally for private design clients, SUMI Collection was created to bring exceptional, often hard-to-find design to the Canadian market in a thoughtful and trade-focused way.
The collection reflects a belief that good design should feel calm, functional, and enduring—and that the objects we live and work with quietly shape how we experience space.
