The Crown Armchair is cleverly constructed, with a playful element to it. Its backrests are perched on the armrests, seemingly unsupported but in fact relying on a strong, concealed steel joint.

Crown’s distinct design gives it open transparent surfaces, and creates new expressions depending on its placement in the room. This comfortable chair works wonderfully as desk, conference, or dining chair.

MEET THE DESIGNER

Chris Martin

British-Swedish designer Chris Martin is co-founder and chief designer of Massproductions, established in Stockholm in 2009 alongside Magnus Elebäck. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, Martin began his career working with Jasper Morrison before moving to Sweden in 1995.

His approach combines industrial precision, functionality and a playful exploration of form. Through Massproductions, Martin creates contemporary furniture defined by thoughtful construction, material integrity and enduring design.

His work includes the iconic Tio chair, Icha collection and Woodwerk series. In 2020, he received the prestigious Bruno Mathsson Prize for his contribution to Scandinavian furniture design.
