MEET THE DESIGNER

Hvidt & Mølgaard

Danish designers Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen are celebrated for furniture defined by simplicity, craftsmanship and refined construction. The pair met at Kunsthåndværkerskolens Snedkerskole, where Hvidt first studied under Mølgaard-Nielsen before later teaching alongside him.

Established in the 1940s, Hvidt & Mølgaard quickly gained recognition after winning a major Swedish design competition in 1943. Together, they went on to create enduring works that became important expressions of mid-century Danish design.
